Women in Clubs Summit

Clubs Queensland is excited to announce the launch of a new Women in Clubs event, the 2024 Women in Clubs Summit, proudly presented by AustralianSuper. This inaugural event extends on our Women in Clubs offering and is a wonderful opportunity to take your leadership skills to the next level.

 
Join an exceptional group of like-minded women at Victoria Park for a day of insightful and knowledge focussed sessions where you will hear real stories from accomplished and inspiring leaders, expand your professional network, and leave reenergised and empowered to make a greater impact to your club and community.

This event is designed for women who want to maximise their success in their chosen club career path and is a wonderful opportunity for female leaders and future leaders to come together to share experiences and insights.

We are pleased to announce our first three speakers:

KATARINA CARROLL

Katarina Carroll is the Former Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service. Katarina Carroll APM was sworn in as the 20th Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) on 8 July 2019. During her policing career, which began in 1983, Commissioner Carroll worked in various roles including Criminal Investigation Branches, a Commission of Inquiry, the Joint Crime Task Force, and the covert unit. She was the Operations Commander for G20 in 2012 and was hand-picked in December 2014 to lead the newly formed Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).

Throughout her career, Commissioner Carroll has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Australian Police Medal. Notably, she was awarded the National Telstra Businesswomen’s Award for Government and Academia and named as one of the Australian Financial Review and Westpac’s “100 Women of Influence”.

LIZ MASEN

Liz Masen, CEO of Athlete Assessments & Team8, will deliver a workshop that focuses on the importance and value of leadership styles, building self-awareness, and debriefing DISC Profile Results. During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to delve into people management by developing an understanding of what the DISC is, your Leadership Style, strengths, limitations, when to adapt; and how to put it into action to understand your people. The session will enhance your knowledge base on how to lead people in a way that best suits them and the situation.

*Note*: Prior to the event, each attendee will complete a 12-minute online survey to receive their personalized DISC Profile Report. The report will detail your leadership style, strengths, potential limiting behaviours, communication preferences, and the environment you perform best in.

DR JO LUKINS

Dr Jo Lukins will be presenting a session on the role of mindfulness and well-being in sustaining high performance. The presentation explores the critical intersection of mindfulness, well-being, and sustained high performance, offering latest research and practical techniques for workplace integration. Attendees will discover strategies to enhance focus, resilience, and overall well-being, understanding how prioritizing these elements leads to long-term productivity gains and a more engaged workforce.

Time: Registration and arrival morning tea from 9:30am for a 10:00am start, concluding at 3:00pm
Inclusions: Tickets include arrival morning tea, lunch and networking drinks.

Bookings are essential for all events to avoid disappointment. All booking must be paid in full prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy – Events and Training
All cancellations must be made in writing to Clubs Queensland via [email protected]. Your registration will be refunded if cancellation is received in writing at least seven (7) business days before the event. Cancellations made after this time cannot be refunded. As an alternative to cancellation, your registration may be transferred to another person at no cost.
