8:30am – 4:30pm - Financial Literacy Workshop
Your opportunity to attend this most popular workshop is now!  Simply add this workshop on to your conference booking and fly up a day earlier!  Run by Stephen Marsden, Lecturer at QUT School of Accounting and Law, financial literacy is a key skill for all directors and committee members and is essential in fulfilling your legal and fiduciary duties and responsibilities to the community club/s you govern.  As a director you are responsible for reviewing, analysing and interpreting the management accounts presented at board meetings and to ask appropriate questions with the view to making decisions as to how to improve the club’s financial performance and position.

12:30pm – 5:30pm - Cairns Club Bus Tour
Put your tourist hat and comfy shoes on as we take you on a whirlwind tour of some of Cairns small but stand out clubs.  You will be visiting Yorkey’s Knob Boating Club, South Cairns Sports Club and Fuller Sports Club. At each venue you will meet management, have a venue tour and enjoy a social beverage and just to keep things interesting the Barrier Reef Brewing Co., an award winning Cairns micro-brewery, will be joining us to do a beer tasting along the way.  Afternoon tea is also included so with only one bus on offer and strictly limited numbers, you will have to be quick to get on this tour.

Catch up with distant colleagues and meet new ones as Clubland comes together to welcome you for this year’s 2017 Keno Right Direction Conference. Adventurous Add On’s:
4:30am – 8:30am - Hot Air Ballooning 
Now is your opportunity to treat yourself to this ‘advenutous add on’ experience of an exhilarating ride in a hot air balloon – the ride you have been promising yourself! The great price of $200 inc GST per person includes return bus transfers from the Hilton and a 30 min flight.  Must be able to climb in and out of basket unaided and stand for 30 mins.

6:45am – 8:30am - Jet Boating
Those with the need for speed can take advantage of this “adventurous add on” and enjoy a 25 minute adrenalin pumping jet boating experience.  Time slots will be allocated and places are limited. Cost is $50 pp inc GST.  Must be able bodied to accept the conditions of this experience.

Payments can be made by individuals for both of the above activities as we respect that Clubs may not accept this cost.

To start the day a little differently from past conferences -  Doug will introduce you to Kay & Des Barr, Tai Chi Master’s who will instruct us on the importance of Self Awareness and the ability to connect mind, body and breath.  Personal power means being balanced yourself; having a belief in your own self-sufficiency.  Kay and Des will help you find balance and harmony both physically and mentally so you start the conference off in the “Right Direction”.  It’s a little adventurous we know but you will enjoy and get involved in this one!!

As well as an extreme endurance expedition leader, Geoff is a veterinary surgeon, business owner, entrepreneur, public speaker and family man. With a passion for business and charitable giving, he is the living endorsement of the motto ‘all in or not at all’. Geoff believes in this type of approach to life and business.  He is a man that doesn’t do things by halves and feels this may just be the secret to his success.  It’s this ‘all in’ mentality that Geoff will share with us as after all, when everyone is ‘all in’ you can create deeper engagement with your management and staff.

So class is out and it is time for some action, some excitement, some adventure if you will!  We’re offering more than afternoon tea today, with Segway rides on the menu too.  Always wanted to try a Segway?  Well now you can thanks to MAX and the guys at Cairns Ninebot Tours who are coming to us.  A 5 min ride for everyone leaving you hungry for more adventure (and for afternoon tea!).  Must wear enclosed flat shoes.
